Founded by William Lank, Sr. and Mary Lank, in 1965, Lank Oil Company began as a CITGO Consignee, located in Port Everglades, Florida. Lank Oil sold diesel fuel and motor oil to its customers and hauled gasoline to CITGO’s customers for a hauling fee.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami in 1969, William “Bill” Lank, Jr. began his career with CITGO Petroleum, as a Territory Manager. In 1972, Lank Oil Company became a CITGO jobber and incorporated with Bill joining the company as Vice President to form the initial ownership and management team along with his parents. For 40 years Lank Oil remained a CITGO jobber and represented Phillips 66, Unocol, BP, Fina and Marathon, as well as unbranded products of TransMontaigne and Pure.
In 2001, Lank Oil Company took over Diversified Oil Company’s tank wagon/fuel delivery business acquiring 5 tank wagons, over 2,000 fuel customers, and most of Diversified Oil’s fuel truck drivers and key office personnel. During that time, Bill became Lank Oil’s President and, in 2012, the company sold their lubricant division to Flamingo oil allowing them to focus on selling diesel fuel and gasoline throughout Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. In 2015, Bill was promoted to Lank Oil’s Chairman of the Board where he, along with senior management and employees, make it their mission to provide excellent customer service and offer the highest quality products, delivered by dependable and courteous delivery specialists.
