Requirements:

  • Students must be a city, county, federal, or other U.S. government employee. (Must provide employment verification letter or a photocopy of government ID picture badge.)
  • Awards are available to new students and currently enrolled in any of the Huizenga College of Business Master's programs.
  • Tuition award is applied to every term.
  • No application necessary.
  • Award open to international students.
The tuition award cannot be combined with any other scholarship or award for the Huizenga College of Business. For example, if you are an NSU alumni and also work for a corporate partner, you will only receive one of the awards.

The Graduate Business Student Tuition Award will be awarded to students who demonstrate academic strength, leadership ability, and a vision to apply the degree from the Huizenga College of Business to their career goals. This award will cover up to $7,192 of graduate tuition.

Deadline: 30 days before the start of the term

Requirements:

  • Completed tuition award form.
  • Tuition award will be applied to first time enrolled College of Business graduate students only.
  • The tuition award is based on a student's undergraduate performance. Student must have a cumulative GPA of a 3.50 or higher (on a 4.0) scale.
  • Submission of the 500 word essay describing how a graduate business degree will be an asset to you both personally and professionally.
  • If applicant has taken the GMAT or GRE, please provide a copy of the score report.
  • Two (2) signed letters of recommendation (1) Professional and (1) Academic or Personal.

Note:

  • The tuition award does not apply to fees or other student expenses and concentrations in Criminal Justice, Disaster and Emergency Management.
  • Tuition award amount is based on $179.80 per credit hour off of the current published ground tuition rates. 
  • Requirements are subject to change and this criteria is effective Fall I 2018 until further notice.

Award Amount: $1000.00 one-time award towards a Huizenga College of Business Undergraduate Degree Program

Deadline: OPEN

Requirements:

  • Awards are made to first time, undergraduate, freshman day students planning to enroll in a business program at NSU
  • Students must show confirmed membership in DECA, FBLA, or BPA with a recommendation letter from their club advisor

Jacki Tuckfield Memorial Graduate Business Scholarship Fund

These scholarships are open to African-American U.S. citizens who are residents of South Florida and are enrolled in any graduate business degree program at Florida universities. Applicants must have earned 12 semester credit hours with a minimum 3.2 CGPA in their graduate business degree program. Three graduate business credits must be earned in the 2016-2017 academic year. Applicants must plan to pursue professional careers in South Florida. JTMGBSF is a long-term strategy to improve the diversity of career professionals employed in the executive, administrative and managerial levels of the South Florida workforce.

For nearly 20 years, JTMGBSF has worked with The Miami Foundation. Established in 1967, The Miami Foundation is Miami-Dade County’s permanent philanthropic endowment. The tax-exempt public charity manages funds established by individuals, families, corporations to support the charitable needs of the community.

Award Amount: Two students can earn up to $10,000 scholarship money per year

Deadline: 9/21/2018

Requirements:

  • be an NSU undergraduate student who has earned enough academic credits to be considered a junior or senior
  • be pursuing a major at the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship (HCBE)
  • be enrolled full time at NSU
  • have a cumulative NSU GPA of at least 3.0

Application and Process:

  • Students must prepare an oral presentation.
  • Presentations will be heard by a panel of judges annually on a date and in a place to be announced by the dean of the HCBE or his or her designee, in any year that funds are available to award.
  • In 2018, the topic will be "Describe how you would build your livelihood or a business if money did not exist." The panel of judges will announce the topic going forward on an annual basis.
  • The panel of judges will be assembled by the HCBE dean or his or her designee. Michael J. Giordano or his designee may participate on the panel of judges as long as NSU representatives constitute at least 51 percent of the panel membership.

Selection Process:

  • The panel of judges may decide to select no winner, one winner, or multiple winners in any given year that funds are available.
  • Should there be multiple winners, the panel of judges may choose to award the same or different amounts to each winner, at their full discretion.

Use of Award:

  • Awards may be used by selected students for (a) Direct Cost of Attendance at NSU, as defined hereafter, and (b) materials required for NSU courses purchased from the NSU Bookstore, provided that all sums due to NSU for Direct Cost of Attendance are paid in full. If a selected student has a balance due to NSU for Direct Cost of Attendance, no portion of the award may be used for the foregoing item (b). The term "Direct Cost of Attendance" shall mean and include the costs assessed by NSU to a selected student for tuition, NSU-related fees, and, if applicable, NSU room and board charges. Direct Cost of Attendance shall not include payment of fines or other sums due by a selected student for items such as parking violations, library charges, or unpaid health care charges due to NSU. No portion of any award may be used for payment of such charges.
  • The maximum amount of the award to any selected student shall not exceed $10,000, subject to the award criteria.
  • The amount of the award, as determined by the panel of judges, shall be further limited to be the lesser of (a) the amount of the award or (b) the amount required to pay for the student's Direct Cost of Attendance and, provided the Direct Cost of Attendance is paid in full, materials required for NSU courses purchased from the NSU Bookstore.
  • The awards will be paid to student accounts in conjunction with the NSU Office of Enrollment and Student Services.

Additional Consideration:

  • Any winner, regardless of the amount of the award, may choose to participate in mentorship and/or coaching opportunities offered by Michael J. Giordano, either personally or in conjunction with a senior employee of any company owned or controlled by him.

NSU's H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship in conjunction with KEMET Electronics Corporation, is pleased to announce its first business intelligence / analytics scholarship competition. This competition was made possible through a generous donation from KEMET Electronics Corporation and its CEO Per-Olof Lööf.

Competitors will be provided with the data and will be expected to obtain publicly available data needed for the analysis, to prepare the data in a meaningful way, and to complete the analysis to identify useful insight(s).

Award Amount: The two winners of this competition will receive a scholarship of up to $12,500.

Requirements:

  • Students must be enrolled in the M.B.A. program with a concentration in Business Intelligence.
  • Submit the Scholarship Qualifier Application via email to kemet.scholarship@nova.edu.
  • Competitors will complete the analysis and prepare a written report along with the data files used for analysis and oral presentation.
  • A panel of judges will evaluate the submissions and select the top five (5) solutions. Selected competitors present their solutions to a panel of faculty advisors and KEMET leadership team.
  • The final score will be determined as a combination of written submission and oral presentation scores.
