Complex Health Systems Certificate

The Complex Health Systems Certificate from NSU's Huizenga College of Business teaches you how to connect your forward-thinking mindset with the intricacies of the health care industry, providing the foundational knowledge you need to pursue a successful career in the health care sector.

With this certificate program, you’ll learn how to create patient and stakeholder solutions, generate groundbreaking laboratory findings, and thrive within a health care organization. Using a combination of theory and practical application, program faculty members will guide you in R&D business plan development, offer in-depth information on how financial environments work within health care business models, and more.

  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or for students with degrees from foreign institutions, an official foreign academic evaluation stating equivalent bachelor’s degree, must be submitted from a NACES organization www.naces.org 
  • Students who have earned a degree from a foreign non-English speaking country must submit English proficiency test scores, (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo, ELS)
  • Additional documents and may be required along with the GMAT or GRE based on review by the admissions committee.

The following prerequisite course may be necessary for certificate completion.

FIN 5008 Business Finance

Not required if previously taken or an an equivalent course with a grade of B- has been taken in the past 5 years

Students have two options for satisfying a program prerequisite course:

  1. Complete course(s) offered by the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship;
  2. Complete a proficiency examination administered by a testing organization that has national recognition, such as CLEP and DANTES. Students selecting this option must complete the requirements within their first two semesters with HCBE. After the second semester, courses must be completed with HCBE. Official transcripts must be received by the office of Academic Advising one week prior to students seeking to register for courses requiring the prerequisite requirement.

Students must complete the certificate program in a maximum of three years.

CHS 5200 Financial Environment in Complex Health Systems
CHS 5300 Principles of Leading Changes, Collaboration, and Team Science in Complex Health Systems  
CHS 5400 Translational Research in Complex Health Systems  
MGT 5105 Managing Organizational Behavior in a Dynamic and Complex World
