Master the Skills to Manage Your Practice

Embarking on a journey to start and/or manage a professional practice—law firm, accounting firm, medical practice, dental practice, or architectural or engineering firm—can be exciting and rewarding. With NSU’s Certificate in Professional Practice Management, you’ll be able to sharpen your leadership and managerial skills. These skills are essential for success in developing, managing, and growing a profitable professional practice.

This graduate certificate program is a condensed version of the Professional Practice Management degree program. The curriculum is designed to help you with hiring, managing, and retaining talent; growing a client base; marketing, and many other key pieces in managing a profitable practice.

  • An application and $50 non-refundable application fee. Apply online
  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or for students with degrees from foreign institutions, an official foreign academic evaluation stating equivalent bachelor’s degree, must be submitted from a NACES organization www.naces.org 
  • Students who have earned a degree from a foreign non-English speaking country must submit English proficiency test scores, (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo, ELS)
  • Additional documents and may be required along with the GMAT or GRE based on review by the admissions committee.

The following prerequisite course may be necessary for certificate completion.

  • ACT 5001 Introductory Accounting
  • FIN 5008 Business Finance

Courses may be waived at the discretion of the department chair or designee. Waivers will only be considered when an equivalent course with a grade of "C" has been earned in the past 10 years. 

Students have two options for satisfying a program prerequisite course:

  1. Complete course(s) offered by the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship;
  2. Complete a proficiency examination administered by a testing organization that has national recognition, such as CLEP and DANTES. Students selecting this option must complete the requirements within their first two semesters with HCBE. After the second semester, courses must be completed with HCBE. Official transcripts must be received by the office of Academic Advising one week prior to students seeking to register for courses requiring the prerequisite requirement.
