Doctor’s Hospital (The Bahamas) Doctors Hospital has provided Bahamians with quality private health care for more than 50 years. Doctors Hospital features a three-room operating suite, eight-bed intensive care unit, the latest diagnostic equipment including CAT scan, nuclear medicine, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, MRI, full scale clinical laboratory, rehabilitation services department, and a maternity wing equipped with a newborn nursery. The hospital pioneered the use of such state-of-the-art medical equipment as the 16 slice CAT scanner, MRI scanner and nuclear medicine in The Bahamas; and is committed to providing all Bahamians and Tourists with the most technologically advanced quality healthcare services in The Region.

Doctors Hospital, formerly named The Rassin Hospital, was founded in 1955 by the late Dr. Meyer Rassin, a leading orthopedic surgeon who opened the original 20,000 square-foot, 24-bed medical facility. In 1986, a group of Bahamian physicians bought the facility and renamed it Doctors Hospital. In 1993, the hospital completed an $8.5 million, 50,000-square-foot expansion and then became a publicly traded company in 1999. Today, the 72-bed Doctors Hospital is the most modern acute care privately owned health care facility in The Bahamas with over 400 employees. There are more than 150 highly trained and dedicated physicians on the hospital's medical staff representing nearly every medical specialty. A healthcare team of medical professionals work together to enhance each and every patient stay, patients may choose between private and semi-private rooms. Every room is comfortable, well lit, and fully equipped with satellite television, air conditioning, telephone, and wireless internet access. The Emergency Room at Doctor's Hospital is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, to provide patients with the optimum in trauma care and emergency medical services. All doctors and nurses in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) staff are Advanced Cardiac and Trauma Life Support certified.
