Applications are individually reviewed and admission is offered to students who meet both qualitative and quantitative criteria.

What must I do to apply for admission?
You must submit a Master's Application for Admission and the non-refundable application fee. It is important that you also provide evidence of completion of your baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution. Successful candidates for admission have earned an overall undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or greater on a 4.00 scale.

Admission Requirements:

  • A conferred bachelors degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree for international applicants.
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended. The applicant's bachelor's degree transcript must show degree conferral date in order to be evaluated for admission consideration. If graduate degree has been earned, the transcript must show degree conferral date in order to be evaluated for admission consideration.   • All applicants who received their bachelors and any graduate degrees from a college or university where English is not the primary language of instruction are required to take an English language test. Test scores cannot be more than two years old.
    • Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) minimum scores required.
      • Internet based (iBT) = 79, Computerized score = 213, Paper score = 550.
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score required = 6.
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE) minimum sore required = 54.
    • TALK International, School of Languages: Completion of level 5 test with a score of 85% or higher.
    • Duolingo Test of English: 105 or higher.
    • Completion and passing of ELS Level 112 Intensive Program English for Academic Purposes.

*An interview may also be required to determine current level of English proficiency, even if the required scores and guidelines have been fulfilled.


  • Additional admission documentation may be required depending upon the program.

Full Admission

Applicants who meet each of the requirements for admission may be offered full admission to the master's degree program to which they are seeking admission.

To be fully admitted to master's degree programs, all applicants must provide, official, final college transcripts AND official copies of GMAT or GRE scores (in addition to all other required documentation).

Conditional Admission

Applicants who are in their last term of their bachelor's degree and choose to submit unofficial college transcripts showing courses in progress in conjunction with a letter(on letterhead) from their school stating that they are enrolled in their last term and their expected graduation date, may be offered conditional admission to the master's programs. This initial status of conditional admission allows students to register for one term only. All admission requirements must be met and final official documents must be received prior to registration for the subsequent term.

* Students who are completing their degree program outside of the United States may not qualify for conditional admission.

Provisional Admission

Applicants who choose to submit unofficial college transcripts showing degree conferred and examinee copies of GMAT or GRE scores may be offered provisional admission to the master's programs. This initial status of provisional admission allows students to register for one term only. All final and official documents must be received prior to registration for the subsequent term

Applicants whose immigration status requires an NSU I-20 should contact Calvin Futterman and the Office of International Students and Scholars for information and assistance with the issuance of the I-20.

  • Applicants who completed their degrees outside of the United States must have their foreign transcripts evaluated by a NACES accredited organization. A list of these organizations can be found at www.naces.org
  • The independent academic evaluation must list the degree equivalency and include a GPA (grade point average) calculation as well as a course-by-course credit evaluation.
  • The academic evaluation must be completed for all undergraduate work and be performed based on original and official documents.
  • SpanTran provides a discount to prospective NSU Florida students who apply for this evaluation.
  • ECE provides a discount to prospective NSU Florida students who apply for this evaluation

Students who wish to take four to six courses may apply as a non-degree seeking student. Non-degree seeking students must adhere to identical admission criteria as degree-seeking students. International students on an F-1 visa may not use non-degree seeking student status. Non-degree applicants are not eligible to receive financial aid.

For prior students who were enrolled at the graduate level and were placed on academic suspension or probation, seeking to return, below is the process for reinstatement into the program.

Reinstatement is only considered for Winter I, Summer I and Fall I start of term. All documents for the reinstatement process must be submitted no later than 60 days prior to the start of each semester.

  1. Completed Master's Application for Admission and non-refundable $50 application fee.
  2. Petition for Reinstatement Essay.
  3. Students account must be at a zero balance to begin process.

Reinstatement essay must include the following:

  • Date
  • Full name
  • NSU ID#
  • Program you are seeking to rejoin
  • Minimum of 500 words
  • What factors do you feel contributed to your academic challenges that led up to you being placed on probation or suspension?
  • What have you done during your time away that would help lead to academic success?
  • What challenges do you anticipate during your first semester back? How will you overcome these challenges?
  • Explain why you chose your intended major and how it relates to your career goals.
  • What is your motivation for returning to school?
  • What are your academic goals for your first semester upon reinstatement to the Business College?

The letter must be addressed to Steve Harvey, Assistant Dean of Graduate Affairs and emailed to hcbeadmissions@nova.edu.
