DEAN'S MESSAGE
Dear Friends and Fellow Sharks,
I am excited to tell you about the accreditation and great news impacting the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship (HCBE).
Nova Southeastern University’s Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship Earns AACSB Accreditation
When I joined the college three years ago, one of my goals in partnership with the faculty and staff was to achieve AACSB accreditation for HCBE. Having previously been the dean at AACSB-accredited institutions, I knew the importance of accreditation, and I knew that HCBE had what it takes to be among this elite group of business schools.

HCBE joins an elite group of only 965 business schools that qualify for AACSB accreditation, representing 6% of business schools worldwide.
AACSB accreditation will positively impact our ranking and opens more recruitment opportunities for us. So, this distinction honors what we are doing here at HCBE, and I applaud our faculty and staff for making NSU Business the educational powerhouse that it is.
More Great News!
The Jerry Taylor and Nancy Bryant Trading Floor at NSU Business
Through the generosity of Jerry Taylor and Nancy Bryant, we will be building out an impressive Trading Floor in the DeSantis Building so that students will have hands-on experience in managing a fund focused on ESG. ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) refers to the three key factors when measuring the sustainability and ethical impact of an investment in a business or company. Students will meet to discuss their research and trade recommendations with an Advisory Board comprised of professionals with expertise in various roles in investing space and corporate social responsibilities/sustainability.
Virtual Reality Learning at HCBE
We are proud to say that virtual reality in learning is here at HCBE. Professor Linda Kidwell built out a virtual warehouse space so that students can put on their Oculus headsets and be immediately immersed in the warehouse space to conduct an inventory observation.
Another university is licensing this technology from us for use in their classrooms. And we are in talks with a national accounting firm to use it for their training as well. Our hope ultimately is to build out VR applications that also include artificial intelligence. We see great potential with this technology.
HCBE and NSU MD win $1M Grant
A team of NSU MD and NSU Business faculty, including François Sainfort and Julie Jacko as co-principal investigators, has received funding from the Health Foundation of South Florida to advance health equity in underserved communities in Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
This grant is just one of a series of programs and projects that represent the synergy that has developed between HCBE and NSU MD, enabling an interdisciplinary team of faculty in medicine and business to create a center of excellence for advancing broad-ranging research and academic programs in the business of health.
As we look forward to Spring here on campus, we are proud of all that makes HCBE an integral part of One NSU.
Regards,
Andrew Rosman
