I have been a dual practitioner CPA and tax lawyer with my own tax consulting practice for over twenty years.

Throughout these years as a practitioner I had the work assignment (and privilege) to train and teach recent college graduates to be competent seasoned tax accountants. During the process of training these employees of mine, both past and present, I became aware of my love for teaching, and the self-fulfillment that comes from helping others grow as professionals.

My love of teaching and sharing what I know with others was further confirmed and strengthened when I began my college teaching career at my alma mater, Florida Atlantic University, where I taught tax accounting for two years. When that adjunct teaching assignment ended, I realized how much I missed the classroom. As a result I enthusiastically accepted the opportunity to teach here at Nova Southeastern University in August 2015.

I was both thrilled and humbled when I won the adjunct faculty of the year award in December 2019. In December 2020, I sold my tax accounting practice to another practicing CPA so that I could devote my career to full-time teaching at Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University.
