M.B.A. with a Concentration in Sport Revenue Generation

The most sought after individuals to sport organizations are those who can add to the revenue base by securing and activating sponsorship deals, maximizing sales, organizing fundraising events, and creatively leveraging emerging technologies to generate new revenue streams.

The M.B.A. with a Concentration in Sport Revenue Generation is a completely unique program, designed to meet the sports industry's growing demand for professionals who are dedicated to revenue enhancement. This program was designed to specifically provide students with revenue generation knowledge, skills, and techniques that will set graduates apart from other job candidates. This cutting edge program is literally a one-of-a-kind in the world of sport management education; no other program focuses so specifically on the knowledge and skills needed to generate revenue.

Graduates of the M.B.A. with a Concentration in Sport Revenue Generation program will be prepared for careers in a wide variety of positions in collegiate and professional sports, with teams, leagues, events and tours.

  • M.B.A. core courses offered weeknights, during the day on the main campus and online. Sport Revenue Generation courses offered weeknights on the main campus.
  • Each SPT course will only be offered once per year so you need to enroll in those classes when offered or program completion will be delayed. (Check the projected SPT course schedule to help you plan your schedule).
  • SPT courses are stand alone courses with no prerequisites
  • Program begins five times annually with starts in August, October, January, March, and May.

Because Master's level study extends knowledge and skills acquired in both the classroom and workplace, each of our programs of study assume prerequisite knowledge in selected content areas.

NOTE – An equivalent prerequisite may be completed at an approved regionally accredited institution or through a CLEP or DANTES exam within the students first two semesters of enrollment with HCBE. Students who have not completed the prerequisites courses within that timeframe will be required to complete them with the Huizenga College of Business, at NSU.

Master of Business Administration (all concentration areas)
  • Completion of the following undergraduate course sequence (B- or higher and for the foundation courses to transfer, the Bachelor’s degree has to have been completed/earned within 5 years from the date of graduation from your Bachelor's degree program):
    • Completion of the following undergraduate course sequence (B- or higher and for the foundation courses to transfer, the Bachelor’s degree has to have been completed/earned within 5 years from the date of graduation from your Bachelor's degree program):
      • Business or Corporate Finance (8 weeks, online or evenings)
      • Statistics (8 weeks evenings, 16 weeks online)
    • Completion of the following undergraduate course sequence (C or higher and for the foundation courses to transfer, the Bachelor’s degree has to have been completed/earned within 10 years from the date of graduation from your Bachelor's degree program):

Sport Revenue Generation Professor Peter Finley

Peter Finley, Ph.D.
pfinley@nova.edu

Dr. Finley is an associate professor of sport and recreation management in the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship. His areas of specialization include sport sponsorship, sport ethics, sport law, and the sociology of sport.

He has authored numerous scholarly articles on various sport management topics and is a regular presenter at several major international conferences in the field.

Dr. Finley was the recipient of the 2008 Huizenga College Excellence in Teaching Award.


Sport Revenue Professor Jeffrey Fountain

Jeffrey Fountain, Ph.D.

Dr. Fountain is an associate professor of sport and recreation management in the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship. His areas of specialization include sport marketing, sport finance, sport organization & administration, and sport in popular culture.

He has authored numerous scholarly articles on various sport management topics and is a regular presenter at several major international conferences in the field.


Sport Revenue Professor Nancy Olson

Nancy Olson, M.S., M.Ed.

Professor Olson is an adjunct faculty member of the sport and recreation management program. Her areas of specialization include sport event & facility management and sport fundraising. She also serves as the Internship Coordinator of the highly successful internship & practicum program for the undergraduate sport and recreation management program.

She has extensive experience in sports related management at various levels including K-12, college, and professional levels.
