NSU Core Value: Student Centered

I view Higher Education as the crucible where a one’s talents, skills and determination are put to the test and from which one’s true vocation will emerge.  As your Academic Advisor,  my role is to partner with you through YOUR transformational process.  I will empower you to make informed choices and create YOUR path to career success.  My guiding principle for my own journey and for my interactions with students comes from one of my favorite quotes from Richard Bach:  “You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true.  You may have to work for it, however.”

More About Me

As I completed my own academic journey I discovered my vocation was to work with young adults.  For over 25 years I have served at various Higher Education institutions in roles such as Minority Student Advisor, Career Advisor, Admissions Advisor, VA Officer, Registrar and others, but the role that truly brings me joy is Academic Advisor.  I have a passion for helping the next generation succeed and bring about a better future for everyone. I look forward to working with you!

 Fun facts:

  • I am originally from Carolina, PR and lived in Florida since 1998.
  • Two of my favorite places in the world are El Yunque forest and Playa Flamenco.
  • I sang my way through college!
  • I was the first Latinx to earn a master’s degree in Psychology from USU.
  • When I am not advising, you may find me baking at home or enjoying a latte at Starbucks.
